今日はメインイベントの私の一番好きなバンド、
KoЯnのライブだよ！
Today, we went to see KoЯn, my favourite band!
ライブは体力を使うので、午前中はゆっくり過ごし、
午後２時過ぎに出かけました。
We took it easy in the morning and left the flat at about 2pm.

この街はジャマイカ系や中東系の方々が多く住む街なので
とても活気のある楽しい街です。
私の大好きなLa Rouxというバンドのボーカル
エレノア・ジャクソンの地元。それでこの街に興味を持ち
一昨年、ちょうどお祭りがあるというので行ってみたら、
なんと！！！
A lot of Jamaican people live in Brixton and it's a very lively place.
It's also the hometown of Eleanor Jackson,
the lead singer of La Roux, one of my favorite bands.
Two years ago, we went to the Brixton festival
and bumped into her on the street!
その本人と遭遇！奇跡ですよね、これって！？
彼女は地元なので、たまたまお祭りを徘徊していたようです。

What luck!
駅前で演奏。ブリクストン、元気です。
A band was playing outside the station.
会場のオープンが17時、私達は２階席ですが、指定席ではないので
いい席に座れるように早めに並ぶことにしました。
（座席チケットなのに、最悪座れないこともあるとかで？？）
The ticket said the venue would open at 5pm so we arrived
early in the hope of getting seats in the balcony.
16時15分前から並び始めました。その時点でこんな感じ。
隣のお兄さん達はスペイン人と言っていましたが、
スペイン語ではない言語で話していたので、バスク語か何かかなと。
We got in the queue at about 3:45.
The two guys in front of us were from Spain.
Maybe they were from the Basque country.
どんどん増えて来ました。手前の子達が一緒にポーズw
More and more people arrived.
坊主のお兄さんはブライトンから1人でやって来たゲイのお兄さん。
彼は15時半に着き、この時間なら1番だろうと、のんびり食事をして、
16時過ぎに戻って来たらこんなに並んでるぅと、がっかりしていました。
The guy on the left was from Brighton.
He arrived at 3:30pm thinking he would be at the front of the queue
but there was already a queue so he went for a bite to eat and ended up behind us.
ゲイのお兄さんと順番こで買い物に行きました。
小腹が空いたのでサンドイッチとビールを買う。
We were hungry so we went to buy some sandwiches and beer.
戻って来た時の様子

17時になっても一向に動きがないので、ジョンがいろんな人に聞いてみたら、
開くのは19時だよ、で、前座の演奏が始まるのが20時位かな、
KoЯnが始まるのは21時過ぎるんじゃない？ですって。
At 5pm, nothing was happening and someone told us that
the doors wouldn't open until 7pm, the support band would
probably not come on until about 8pm and KoЯn would
probably come on after 9pm!
情報が滅茶苦茶で参りました。結局外で３時間以上待つってことね…
Our information was hopelessly wrong and
we ended up waiting outside for more than 3 hours!
並んでる途中、「こっちの列は優先列、O2(オーツー)カスタマーのね！」
と列分けが始まったので、ジョンが「O2(オーツー)ってなに？」
と聞くと係りのお姉さんが「嘘でしょ？知らない分けないでしょwww」
と。ジョンがいくら僕らは日本に暮らしているから知らないんだと言っても
お姉さん「またまた、嘘ばっかりぃ。何年住んでるのさ？」
ジョン「40年」
お姉さん「またまた、嘘ばっかりぃ。」
話になりません。
While we were waiting, someone came and split us into two lines,
O2 customers and non-O2 customers.
When John asked her what O2 customers were, she scoffed saying
"Don't wind me up!"
John explained that we lived in Japan and didn't know what was going on.
The person accused him of telling pork pies and,
when he told her he had lived in Japan for 40 years, she cracked up!
そこで、そのやりとりを優先列側で聞いていたお兄さんが、
ジョンに自分は2人なら同伴できるから僕とどうぞと申し出てくれました。
Just then, a young man in the O2-customer queue offered to get us in with him.
フィリップくん。お父さんがブラジル人でお母さんがイタリア人だそうです。
彼はロンドンに暮らし、IT関係の仕事をしているとのこと。
彼、ちょ〜〜〜〜〜好青年でした！
優しいし、穏やかで背は高いし（190cm以上あったよ！）
顔も可愛いし、英語のできない私をすごく気遣ってくれたり、
もう、ほんとに娘ちゃんの相手候補ナンバーワンですわ！（突然勝手に決める）
なんたってKoЯnのファンなんですからね！！
He's from Brazil and he lives in London and works in cyber security.
He was a really nice bloke.
その時は気づかなかったんですが、
あとで自分も一応O2カスタマーじゃないのよと。
We realized later that we were O2 customers!
並んでいるうちからベロベロになって楽しんでいる
女の子達。見ていて面白かったw
フィリップくんも映ってますよ〜。
Some of the women got quite drunk and boisterous!
そんなこんなで、列はとうとう建物を一周しました。
The queue eventually went right round the theater.

中に入れたのは、やっぱり19時過ぎてからでした。
並んだ甲斐あって、2階席の一番前のほぼ真ん中に座れましたよ！
We finally got in after 7pm and, thanks to the young guy we met,
we got good seats at the front right in the middle.
前座の演奏が長く、お疲れ気味のジョン。
付き合ってくれてありがとう、ごめんね
The support band played for about an hour and John was beginning to flag.
ビデオ撮りましたが、載せていいのかわからないので、
3年前に同じ場所で演った、公式？のライブのビデオがありましたので貼っておきまーす。

約10年ぶりの彼らのライブ、やっぱり良かったです。
隣の席の10代の男の子と同じノリで観てるのが楽しくて。
その子はお母さんと来ていたんですよ。
I hadn't seen the band live for 10 years.
They were really good.
The teenager next to me was as excited as me so it was fun.
帰りの地下鉄。ライブ帰りの人で貸切状態に。
全体的に衣装が黒いです。
On the tube after the show,
everyone was wearing black.
カムデンタウンの２つ前の駅で降りると
目の前にマックがあったのでお腹が空いていたジョンは
ポテトだけでもと食べたいと、ポテトを買いに。
We got off at Warren Street and John ordered some chips at Macdonalds.
こんなので注文するのは日本にあるのかな？
Automatic Mac Machine!
ポテトを買ってバスに乗りさあ食べようと袋を開けると、
なぜかビグマックも入っていました。どうやらお店のお兄さん、渡し間違えたようです。
When we got on the bus, we found that, instead of just chips,
there was a Big Mac and chips in the bag!
実はジョン、ビッグマックも食べたいなーと思っていたんです、
だからこの間違いに大喜び。ラッキーでしたね。
In fact, that was what John really wanted so he was very lucky!
バスの中であろうが地下鉄であろうが飲食全然問題なし。
さすがにアルコールはだめだそうです。
Eating on the bus and the tube is not a problem.
Alcohol is not allowed though.
帰り道、パブに寄ろうかと思ったのですが23時も過ぎると
みんな閉まってしまいます。早いですね。
We thought we might pop into a nearby pub
but it was gone 11pm and the pubs were shut.
宿に戻りビールを飲んでおやすみなさーい。
So, we went back to the flat and shared a cool beer!

長い一日でしたね！でも楽しそう。並んでいる時の地元の人たちとのコミュニケーションも楽しいですよね。
